I discovered a piece of grapevine wood in my mountain cottage in Neyshabur with a fascinating form and thought about creating something functional rather than just a sculpture. Considering how spotlights on a stand can turn an object into a sculpture, I imagined a lampshade having that potential on its own—“a unique piece of wood framed by the light on a stand.” This idea led to the design and creation of the Takna Collection.
This was the first collection of lamps I designed, marking my transition from architecture to industrial design. “Tak” in Persian means grapevine, and “na” is a suffix denoting light.
