Cutting non-industrially grown tree trunks has always been an exciting part of my work. It’s like unwrapping a gift; until you cut and sand the wood, you don’t know what patterns lie inside, especially when cutting crosswise. After cutting, these sections start to crack, as if the tree’s spirit is leaving and marking the wood. This concept inspired the design of this collection: pure geometric shapes broken open by the tree’s spirit.
In Persian, “Journo” means “new way.” This collection is made from ash wood with cotton lampshades.
