Before the Segāh, my designs existed in a space between an industrial product and a handmade item. This was my first experience designing a lamp intended for mass production using industrial methods.
The idea came to me when I found two semi-symmetrical pieces of wood in my workshop. I played around with them and noticed how harmoniously they fit together to create different forms. Finding specific standing points made me think that, in an upright position, this could be a table lamp, as well as a study lamp in a perpendicular position.
Photos of the Segāh were taken from its prototype, but I haven’t included all the pictures and information as the product is still in development and seeking a brand for production. If you’re interested, please get in touch.
