The design of this collection began with creating the material for the lampshades. Initially, I aimed to make a lampshade with a texture similar to Anselm Kiefer’s canvases. While experimenting with different materials, I turned to cement and decided to create a shade that, when turned off, resembles concrete, and when turned on, creates an intriguing light pattern. Concrete always reminds me of Tadao Ando’s work, so I revisited his books for inspiration. My challenge was to make the lampshade structure with the same thickness as iron profiles. Thanks to brainstorming sessions with my wife, Pegah, I found the solution.
