Judd Collection

An old cottage at our mountain settlement, under an ancient plane tree, had collapsed years ago. The door, made of plane tree wood, had turned black over almost a century. When I started making lamps, I brought this door to my workshop. It was so valuable to me that I decided to create a frame with light and a base, similar to the Takna collection, to encase these pieces of wood. After creating the first sample, the tiered structure reminded me of Donald Judd’s work that I had seen at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tehran, which is why I named this collection after him.
