Greenkit is a home microgreens growing kit developed through a collaboration between myself and Behrouz Kouhzad Beigi, an advocate of sustainable agriculture.
The product offers a simple and sustainable response to the growing demand for healthy food production at home. Greenkit is made from locally sourced and sustainable materials and includes an adjustable lighting system with two modes — full spectrum and 3600K — alongside planting pots, a structural base, and a seed and soil package.
Throughout the design process, I adopted an economic approach to lower production costs and make the product more accessible, with the hope of contributing, even in a small way, to the expansion of sustainable agriculture.
Sustainability was also considered in material choices. Ceramic replaced conventional plastic containers, while a fabric bag replaced plastic packaging. Beyond eliminating bubble wrap, the bag serves as a practical storage solution for cultivation equipment.
